At Beyond A Beaten Path, we take pride in creating high-quality, handcrafted products. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.
Custom & Personalized Items
Important: Due to the custom and personalized nature of our products, most items cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or defective.
Custom items include:
- Products with personalized engraving (names, dates, custom text)
- Custom color selections
- Custom photo engravings
- Made-to-order items with specific customization
Please review your customization details carefully before placing your order. We are unable to accept returns on custom items due to buyer's remorse or incorrect personalization provided by the customer.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your item arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect, we will gladly replace it or issue a full refund.
To report a damaged or defective item:
- Contact us within 7 days of delivery
- Email bbp.wain@gmail.com with your order number
- Include clear photos of the damage or defect
- Describe the issue in detail
We will review your claim and respond within 2 business days with next steps.
Non-Custom Items
For non-personalized, standard items, we accept returns within 30 days of delivery if:
- The item is unused and in original condition
- All original packaging and components are included
- You contact us before returning the item
Return shipping costs:
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or we made an error
- We recommend using a trackable shipping method
- We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping
Refund Process
Once we receive and inspect your return:
- Approved refunds will be processed within 5-7 business days
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method
- Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable (unless the item was defective or we made an error)
Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges.
Order Cancellations
Before Production:
- You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it for a full refund

After Production Begins:
- Once we begin crafting your custom item, cancellations are not accepted
- Production typically begins within 1-2 business days of order placement
Wrong Item or Our Error
If we made a mistake with your order (wrong item, incorrect engraving due to our error, etc.):
- We will replace the item at no cost to you
- We will cover all shipping costs for the replacement
- Contact us immediately so we can make it right

We stand behind the quality of our handcrafted products. Each item is:
- Inspected before shipping
- Made with premium materials
- Crafted with attention to detail
Please note: Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, slight variations in wood grain, paint, and finish are normal and add to the unique character of each piece. These natural variations are not considered defects.
